(SIOUX CITY, IA) Whether it's tornadoes, fires, flooding or blizzards, the Red Cross is there in times of crisis; but they need helping hands to make it happen.
This week is National Volunteer Week, and that means Red Cross groups all across the nation are hoping to raise awareness for the work they do every day.
The violent storms of this past weekend are a perfect reminder of how great the need is when disaster strikes.
"Our hours are 8:30 to 4:30, but obviously disasters can happen at any time of the day," said Jenny Hamman, Volunteer Coordinator for the Siouxland Red Cross, "and so for those volunteers, we really thank them and appreciate them for being able to step up during either a fire or a tornado, flooding, at any time of the day."
If you want to volunteer, you can contact the Siouxland Chapter of the American Red Cross via any of the methods below.
