Afternoon Shooting Has Police Looking For Clues

Police are looking for a car involved in a shooting near downtown Sioux City.  Sioux City Police received a report of shots fired about 1:30 this afternoon.

They say a car of people pulled up to the intersection at 14th and Jones, shot at another car and then drove off.

No one was hit by the gunfire and now police are looking for the suspects.

"It was supposedly about these gangs supposedly trying to get back at each other, I think or that's what I've been hearing," said neighborhood resident Luci Garcia

Police have not confirmed whether this shooting was retaliation to a gang incident that happened last weekend, but say they're looking into that possibility right now.

If you know anything about the shooting, you can call the Crimestoppers hotline at 258–TIPS.
