Katie Link - Siouxland News - KMEG 14 and FOX 44

Katie Link

Katie is a born and raised Minnesotan and a Vikings fan (win or lose).  Growing up in Minnesota, she has seen her fair share of weather from bitter cold and plenty of snow to severe summer storms.  Seeing such diverse weather is what sparked her interest in meteorology.  She was always curious about the atmosphere and how it was continually changing.  As her curiosity grew the dream to storm chase grew as well.  That dream was fulfilled while interning at KELO in Sioux Falls, SD  she was able to be part of a few storm chases and saw some spectacular storms.  On the other side of storm chasing, you also see the destruction from these events.  That's why Katie wanted to get into broadcasting -- to be able to inform and warn the public to keep people safe when these severe storms hit.

Katie graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in Atmospheric Sciences and a minor in Math.  In her free time she enjoys being out on the boat skiing and wakeboarding as well as tapping into her creative side by knitting and sewing.
