Parks and Rec Month Means Summer Fun in Siouxland

Posted:
SIOUX CITY, IA -

If you want to get out and enjoy this weekend's promised heat, there is plenty to do here in Siouxland.

Sioux City is celebrating National Parks and Recreation Month by highlighting tons of free and low-cost activities you can enjoy without leaving town. From dozens of parks and swimming opportunities to free movies at the band shell, the city's attractions will not disappoint.

The highlights of the summer even include a pirate–themed Fantastic Friday party at Lewis Pool on July 29th.

"It's a good opportunity for a couple hours to come for an evening swim, but then also the games and activities, and the parks, those are always available, you've got over fifty parks throughout Sioux City, so in the hustle and bustle of things, you might not know you have one right in your neighborhood, so definitely check those out," says Mandi Parker, Recreation Supervisor.
