Herman Cain Touts Lack of Public Office Experience

Posted:

(SIOUX CENTER, IA) Another Republican in the race is making the economy his top priority. Herman Cain spoke to a crowd in Sioux Center as part of "The Family Leader" Presidential Lecture Series Monday.

The economy tops his platform, along with, what he calls, the moral and energy crises facing our nation. His 40 years of business experience include becoming CEO of Godfather's Pizza and president of the National Restaurant Association.

He says those leadership roles taught him how to problem-solve.

"And then if you got the right people and you're working on the right problems, you can then put together the right plans to fix stuff, to restructure stuff, to grow stuff. That's what I have done in my business career. And so quite frankly I wear it as a badge of honor that I have NOT held public office before," said Cain.

Cain also stopped at Pella Christian High School and the University of Iowa on his tour of the state.

One of his opponents and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich will speak at Dordt College on July 11th for the next installment of the series.
